Small Pleasures

I have just returned from the cutest (read, expensive) farm shop near me.  Wasn't going to indulge but I just could not help myself.  For a start the box was too beautiful - here, take a peek :

Tasteful packaging. Reels me in every time.
And then just look - WHITE eggs - love them.  So amazingly pretty I had to have them. Never mind the novelty factor too; ordinary brown eggs are usually the norm round here.
Sometimes all it takes are the smallest of things to bring the greatest of pleasures.

  1. That's interesting; white eggs are the norm here and brown are a bit more "exotic." But yes, pretty packaging!

    1. Ha ha - you must have wondered why I was getting so excited then! But honestly, I would say that almost all the eggs in the normal supermarkets here in UK are brown... x

  3. Oh, your niece :-) Love your purchase from the farm shop. What beautiful packaging for the chook's eggs. I can't remember the last time I saw white eggs. They are almost too beautiful to crack! Speaking of which, what's the plan post stylish display? Delish recipe in mind? It is the small things that bring such pleasure for sure! xxx

  4. Packing does it for me too. A friend came to dinner recently and bought eggs from her hens, they were varying colours of blue and white, a lovely, thoughtful gift.

  10. Have you seen the turquoise eggs? I can't remember the breed of hen but they produce the most exquisite Tiffany-blue-coloured eggs. They're very fashionable in Melbourne! Lots of women who don't know one end of a hen from the other are now ordering fancy chicken coops and buying this breed to put in it.

Hope you're settling back into the UK okay. The new photo is lovely. Wiltshire must be beautiful in the autumn.

    xx

  11. Hello - I've emptied my inbox (well deleted enough emails to allow a few new ones to pop in!) I did try to email you but think it might have been an old address? Are you coming to London?!
