I had to re-think what I wore to the engagement party last weekend - this was the weather on the way to the venue.... Snow and freezing temperatures.
Never mind - the khaki leopard babes are snuggled back in their box ready for another outing. Did not want to spoil their loveliness in any way the first time they appeared.

Daughter and I... ready to go. Woollen scarves as extra accessories. I am wearing a sparkly sequin jacket (Zara) with another little bit of sparkle in a kind of light sweatshirt type top underneath - the lighter stripes have a bit of glitter. |

Us at the party... Daughter kindly 'did' my makeup |

Enjoying a glass of fizz... straight to my cheeks! You can see the sparkle in the top a little more. |
|
And finally, the pic I enticed you with....Daughter with a dear friend of ours... (brother of the 'engagement girl')....Such a nice young man and he is going to be a 'regular' soon on a British soap opera - HOLBY CITY.

Have you been to any good parties recently... what did you wear? Do you always reach for the same kind of outfit and what do you feel most comfortable in for an evening occasion?
You look fabulous!! I really like the sparkly top, it hits that "casual glamour" note just perfectly. Your daughter is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is gorgeous and yes the young man is handsome. What a lovely couple they make. You look fabulous too, so youthful and I can see where your daughter got her looks from!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
I totally agree with Susan, the top is casual chic at its finest. I also love the necklace in the bottom photo and the nail polish, all in the same colour palette :-)
ReplyDeletethe three of you (including your lovely daughter and hansome guy) look gorgeous and happy and at ease. Sighns of a great party for sure
You are very observant to notice my nail polish too! A new OPI colour... and thanks for kind comments. S x

Hello Sarah,
ReplyDeleteJust found you again via Hostess. You are looking good, are you enjoying being back in
Blighty (won't mention the weather!).Can't remember if I mention this before you remind me
of Helen Mirren but much younger.
Off to check out your other posts. Happy Easter.Judith/Ida
Enjoy your blog. You all look great!
ReplyDeleteHi again Sarah, have just read your post on painting dark furniture, and have a chair I want to paint......do you have to strip it down first before you start painting, did you use a special paint, also what colour?
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind all the questions, but this will be the first time I have painted furniture.Love your cottage and enjoyed reading about your projects.Judith/Ida
Hi Judith/Ida - lovely to hear from you and thanks for the kind comments about our party pics. Glad you have enjoyed looking through the new blog. No, I don't rub down the furniture really - maybe just a dust down. And no, I didn't use any special paint - just an emulsion... Splosh on 2 coats (it dries quite quickly) and then do the wax application with Brixax or equivalent (Clear) and the rubbing down with very, very fine wire wool .Then buff up rather as you would shine a pair of shoes. Do an area at a time (the waxing business) not the painting - paint the whole piece of furniture first (two coats) .... Hope this helps... And I think that paint colour that I used is Estuary by Paint and Paper library.
